HamiltonAcademy of Music Choir

For some time now, a lot of attention has been put towards the efforts to save music and arts programs in high schools. Unfortunately, the attention drawn hasn't exactly helped. Many stories of failing programs across the country are written and heard about constantly, and when it comes to the actual attempts made to save music education, it seems as if nothing is happening.
   Every single day at Hamilton High School's Academy of Music, we are reminded of our depleting funds. A decrease in working instruments, the recycling of old sheet music, and the all around lack of necessities prevent us from continuing our passions to the best of our abilities. There are no funds stored up to help kids who aren't in the financial state to pay for competitions on their own; there is no money for us to fly to New York in acceptance of our invitation to perform in Carnegie Hall. Opportunities that are presented to us in our Choir Department are unreachable due to insufficient assets, and it hurts us, as motivated students, in more ways than one. Needless to say, we need help.
    Our number one goal is simple. As the future of our department, we want to become financially stable and self reliant. Instead of raising minimal amounts of money and watching idly by as our funds drain quickly, we would like to raise enough cash to get us through the year and still have some left to kick start the following year. We would like to maintain our legacy as first place winners of the San Francisco Heritage Festival, we would like to watch the program that we pour our hearts into flourish. We would like the future generations to be able to have the same opportunities as we have/had and more.
