Hello,

My name is Taylor. My husband Dylan and I are on vacation for our honeymoon in Cancun.

We came across this stray dog hiding in the shade at the beach today. We brought her back to our room and gave her some food and lots of water. We’ve asked around the resort and she is a well known stray that begs for food.

They’ve told us there’s tens of thousands of stray dogs on the streets of Cancun and they can’t do anything about it.

We’ve tried reaching out to dozens of rescues in the area who are all at capacity, but one is willing to help us get her home, Isla Animals. 

We are scheduled to leave Sunday Feb 16th with Sunwing - which is not pet friendly.

In order to get her home we would need to rebook and fly West Jet as they are the only airline flying in to Halifax that would allow her to be crated in Cargo.

In addition to flying home we also need to get her vet checked and have a rabies vaccine, dewormer and paperwork completed. As well as purchase an airline approved crate.

We have a potential home lined up for her in Halifax if we can get her there.

Once she arrives to Halifax she will need to be spayed and vet checked once again as a precaution! 

In total we are looking at about $2000 just to get her to Canada to cover airfare and vet care.
