W Balongo Medical Funeral Expenses

It is with great sadness that we announce the promotion to glory of Rev Canon Dr. Wycliffe Balongo that occurred on March 13th 2016, while he was undergoing treatment in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The late Canon Balongo is the beloved husband of Rebecca Balongo. He is the loving Father of Faith Balongo Mbugua, Amos Balongo, J.Shiroya of Ottawa, Canada and Andrea Balongo.


Canon Wycliffe Balongo is a Canon and elder of All Saints Cathedral Church and the Anglican Church of Kenya. He faithfully and joyfully served the body of Christ in Strategic leadership and training. He also served as chairman of the Bible Society of Kenya and Bible Translation & Literacy (BTL). He was also an adjunct professor at Daystar University

Canon Wycliffe Balongo had also served the Kenya YMCA's in a senior Leadership role for 21 years and also served as the National Director of SOS Children's Village for a few years. 

At the time of his death, he was the Patron of Camp Ohana Foundation, a children's program he often referred to as his "pride and joy"

Canon Balongo was an affable man of God and throughout his life he helped and served so many. He committed his life to knowing and serving God. He was a peaceful gentle leader who touched the lives of so many. Those who were privileged to know him and serve with him, are forever grateful for the imprint he left on their lives. He was a true friend to many.

The Balongo family needs your financial support to cover outstanding medical bills and to repatriate Canon Balongo’s body back home to Kenya for his funeral. Let us join the family in prayer and financial support.

This campaign has been created by Amos Balongo of Camp Ohana Foundation in Waipahu Hawaii, funds from this campaign will be sent to Camp Ohana Foundation, a United States based non profit organization that will ensure funds are used for medical bills and repatriation costs of Canon Balongo who was Camp Ohana Foundation's Patron.
