I will be attending a missions trip to the Odessa, Ukraine at the end of April with a team from Southgate Church, through World Hope International.
“Since the Ukraine’s independence, an estimated 120,000 young women have been trafficked from the Ukraine, mostly for the sex trade. One of the most vulnerable groups to trafficking are young women who are graduated from state-run orphanages at 16 years old or who living on the street.”
I will be going to the Hope House, which is a place for young women who have aged out of the orphanages to provide them a place to finish their education and learn life skills. These girls tend to come from places with history of alcohol abuse, physical abuse, and neglect. While we are there, we will spend time teaching them some of those life skills, completing a living room renovation, spending time with the girls (games/crafts/cooking/etc.), and helping with the First Steps Centre and running a children’s day camp program. The main reason that I am going is to learn to see a little more like Jesus and feel the way He does about those girls and kids. And then try and love them in the same way Jesus does.
These funds will financially help me go on this trip. If interested in supporting me in other ways, please don't hesitate to contact me!
THANK YOU for the help! It means so much to me.
