This GoFundMe account was established to donate to a young man we all know and love, Joshua Holmes, and his family. Josh was diagnosed with an incredibly rare and aggressive form of cancer called Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumors (DSRCT) less than six months ago. They need our help more now than ever as time passes and Josh’s fight becomes increasingly challenging.
Immediately after diagnoses, medical professionals believed the best course of action was to administer a year of chemotherapy treatments in order to shrink or halt expansion of tumors to the extent that operating would be possible.
However, we have recently learned that this will not been the case. After four rounds of chemotherapy, scans showed that the tumors were not affected by the treatments and his doctors decided to stop chemo. Since then Josh has been waiting for results to see if he qualifies for another type of treatment. While waiting for these results Josh and his family have been encouraged to get other opinions from other doctors.
We all know Josh’s obsession with superheroes and non-human strength, his love for supernatural worlds and gaming. If we can all join together, we can become the superhero, the non-human strength he has always wished to have, and now needs more than ever. Now is our time to give and believe in the one who has always believed in and encouraged himself. We can do this for him.
Please donate in order to support the Holmes family as they pursue alternative therapies and continue to seek non-traditional treatment routes. This process can be incredibly expensive and taxing on family members. They desperately need funds for medical bills, travel to and from hospitals, lodging so the family can stay together and support one another and so on.
With the changing, uncertain state of this country, we often ask ourselves what we can do to help. Here’s what we can do right now: influence our social groups, better the lives of those we care about and spread love to those who need it in the darkest of times.
