I took in Martha, the orange tabby, and her two kittens in early 2017, when Martha had a very bad case of stomatitis and both kittens had eye and respiratory infections. One of the kittens died of subsequent illness and the other has been placed in a loving home in Minneapolis. Martha had all of her teeth removed, which worked wonders for her stomatitis, but because of that, she can never be released onto the streets. Martha is probably 3-5 and is now in great health, but would be happier in a home of her own with her best friend Millie.
Millie, the gray tabby, was found by a good friend when she was in terrible shape, sick from a respiratory infection, half starved, and with a bad case of worms. She was only 8 weeks old when she went into the clinic, and it took close to three months for her to recover, so she was another that couldn't be released, with her total lack of street survival skills. She bonded with Martha very quickly and the two girls have been inseparable for close to a year now.
A friend in the States has offered to give these girls a permanent, loving home in North Carolina. The logistics of getting the cats to their new home are fairly straightforward, and I've couriered dozens of animals to the States in the past, but the flight, animal fees, and rental car to get them from their entry point to their destination add up, and I plan on doing quite a few animal transports in the coming months, so I've set up this fundraiser to try to mitigate some of those expenses.
All money raised will go directly to the flight, the animal ticket fee, the car rental, and the crate to transport them safely.
