Bonjour famille et amis ( Hello family and friends),
My name is Samiya Morton-Dotson. I am currently a freshman at Clemson University. I graduated salutatorian from
Legacy Early College in May of 2017. I was able to accomplish a lot while in high school, like graduating salutatorian, receiving tons of private and institutional scholarships. I have participated in many extracurricular activities, such as the Phillis Wheatley Dwight Woods Repertory Theatre for Youth, AAU and high school basketball, different leadership organizations. I feel that the one thing that sets me apart from my peers is the grit and perseverance that I embody. With the foundation that has been built for me throughout my life, it gives me confidence and pushes me to inspire people to be better everyday. I want to build my resume, so that I can stand apart from others in the future. With that being said, I am raising money to study abroad in France in May of 2018. I will be studying the history of war and how it effected France. Attending this trip will help me earn credits for my major, which is Language and International Trade with a focus of French. This is an opportunity the will give me experience and will prepare me for a full semester of studying abroad, which is required for my major and my future career. I am asking everyone of you to join in and be apart of my journey by investing in me. I am truly thankful for each and everyone of you! I have the best support system, which is one of the biggest reasons I am the person I am today. Thank you for believing in me and remaining by my side.
