DELTA CHI SPONSORS FUNDRAISER WITH THE FOUNDATION FOR THE BETHLEHEM AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT
Family and Friends of the Brothers of Lehigh Delta Chi Fraternity:
This year has been an incredible success for the Lehigh Chapter of the Delta Chi Fraternity. We began the Fall semester with the spring-initiated 17 sophomore brothers moving into the Delta Chi Chapter House, 86 Upper Sayre Park Road for those who would like to visit! At the beginning of the semester, we set our chapter goals to revolve around benefiting the local community throughphilanthropy and community service. So far this academic year, we have completed almost 500 hours of community service, with our semester plan to break 500 (and it’ll happen!). This equates to an average of 15 hours per brother, enormously surpassing our 6 hour per brother mandated minimum. Additionally, the chapter has raised/donated over $2,000 for different philanthropies and local organizations, such as our International Fraternity Philanthropy: Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research and Lehigh University’s Dance Marathon for Children’s Miracle Network.
Now, we want to take our philanthropic success to the next level, and we need your help!
As you may or may not know, Delta Chi's four founding values are promoting friendship, developing character, advancing justice, and assisting in the acquisition of a sound education.
Our next philanthropic goal is to fundraise money for the The Foundation for the Bethlehem Area School District; and in doing so, the brothers of Delta Chi are looking to spread our values by supporting and advancing the local Bethlehem schools.
Delta Chi is participating in the The Foundation for the Bethlehem Area School District's annual fundraising gala at the Sands Casino, sponsoring a table to benefit the city's schools and enable its teachers to pursue special projects with its students. The event has a minimum fundraising mark of $500, however we have set our objective at $5000 because all proceeds are going to the district and the tremendous faculty who advance its goals. While $5000 is our goal it is certainly not our ceiling, and any extra proceeds will go directly to the Foundation. Any donation, small or large, is greatly appreciated by Delta Chi, the community, and the students of Bethlehem!
The purpose of the the Foundation’s event similarly aligns with the values of Delta Chi:
-Mobilize the community to promote and foster the Bethlehem Area School District.
-Support educator innovation to advance curricul um and dynamic learning environments.
-Support school district programs that emphasize Core Learning, Stret ch Learning, Student Engagement andPersonal Skill Development.
-Foster community and family partnerships.
-Raise and leverage necessary resources to support the mission of the Foundation.
-Develop a collaborative spirit and supportive relationships between the Bethlehem Area Education Foundation, the Bethlehem Area School District and the Bethlehem Education Association.
