2020 has been the most difficult year for me.. Not just because of COVID19 but because of the loss of my big brother. I was never able to give him the send off he truly deserved.
I've never had to deal with the grief and sorrow I have felt this year. It has thrown me into the unknown. I went from go happy go lucky Dee to the complete opposite, whereby I didn't even recognise myself. I'd spend days on my own, sat in the dark...
Eventually I found riding my bike brought me peace and freedom. This may not work for everyone but it worked for me.
Along with my own battle this year, I have witnessed many people in my community friends and family struggle with mental health. It's not in my nature to sit and do nothing. I want to raise awareness, I want to speak out and I want my fellow man to know it is OK not to be OK.
I want to raise money for ANDYSMANCLUB to enable them to continue their journey in supporting men across the country and to continue savings lives!
I will be completing a bike ride from Leeds to Liverpool via the canal - 127 MILES!!!

More information about ANDYSMANCLUB Limited: ANDYSMANCLUB is a male suicide prevention charity. We were established in 2016 after the tragic loss of Andrew Roberts to suicide aged 23. We facilitate non professional peer to peer support groups across the Uk and Scotland for any man to attend over 18. We provide a confidential non judgemental space for men to come together to chat about anything that they would like to get off of their chest. We have no waiting list, no referral or signing in process.
