Dwight Privott Memorial Services

Dwight Harrold Privott was the person everyone wanted to have in their life; and it is with great sadness that he passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 30, 2018.

He was born July 17, 1966 after his identical twin brother Dwayne, to his parents Richard and Jettie Privott. He loved playing soccer in high school and graduated Indian River High School in 1985. He is survived by his father Richard, mother Jettie, twin brother Dwayne, younger brother Billy, two sons Eric and Scotty, and partner Bonnie.

Dwight had the biggest heart a person could have. He never had a problem helping anyone, and when he offered help, you could count on him to always be there for you no matter the time or situation. One of our family and Dwight's favorite pastime was helping the Jaycee Haunted Forest in Chesapeake, Virginia back in the early 2000's. Beginning in September, it became almost a family tradition of ours to get together and volunteer for the next 2 months. So for us, this time of the year going into the holidays was always a very special time for our family.

To our family and friends, he was the life of the party. He loved to talk to everyone and anyone, very much like his father Richard, and he could jump into any conversation with ease. He really was all about family and friends, and would do anything for these people in his life. We all thought the world of him and he was the world to us all.

This unexpected loss of Dwight has really broken so many of our hearts and filled them with sadness. This was not something we were prepared for and we hope that our wonderful friends and family will help us to cover the cost of Dwight's funeral services and the unexpected financial burden that has fallen on his family at this time.

He has touched so many people in his short life, and while we are all mourning the loss of an amazing man, we hope to join with everyone to also remember the memories of him. So while these stories we have with Dwight cannot be shared together anymore, we can still have these memories be told to keep him alive in our hearts. Once we have more information on his memorial service, we will be sure to share it with all of you.

“I am always saddened by the death of a good person. It is from this sadness that a feeling of gratitude emerges. I feel honored to have known them and blessed that their passing serves as a reminder to me that my time on this beautiful earth is limited and that I should seize the opportunity I have to forgive, share, explore, and love. I can think of no greater way to honor the deceased than to live this way.”
― Steve Maraboli

“On the death of a friend, we should consider that the fates through confidence have devolved on us the task of a double living, that we have henceforth to fulfill the promise of our friend's life also, in our own, to the world.”
― Henry David Thoreau

“There is no death, daughter. People die only when we forget them,' my mother explained shortly before she left me. 'If you can remember me, I will be with you always.”
― Isabel Allende, Eva Luna
