Two Boys…Two Positive Parents…An Opportunity to Change Their Lives Forever
On October 8, 2014, a process will begin that will change the destiny of two little boys’ lives for the rest of their lives. The boys came in to a loving family in August when their living situation changed at home. Because of choices that the boy’s mother made, they are no longer able to be with her. After years of living with their biological grandparents, the boys were in need of a home that could provide love, structure, educational support and mental health support.
Through what has been a long and arduous process, these little ones have been given the chance to live with two loving parents – a mom who is a special education teacher and a dad who teaches in the fine arts department at a major university. The boys are learning to read, paint, play soccer, football and the guitar. Their world now contains an extended family that cares for them, loves them and will be there no matter what challenges present over time. Over and over both boys are asking, “Do we get to live with you forever?” As a community, we want to make sure that we can provide them with the sense of security that they need and desire.
It has recently been brought to the family’s attention that there will be an extensive legal process due to the wishes of the birth mother. Though she is not healthy, and though she has not been able to provide for or care for the boys for the past six years, she has decided to fight the custody and adoption in court. There are now a large amount of legal fees piling up. Legal fees may run up to $30,000 or more.
All money raised will be set aside for legal fees, educational needs, and metal health support for these two precious boys. If you can give $5.00, $50.00 or $500.00 – all gifts will be greatly appreciated and if you include your name, email or address, all gifts will be acknowledged. Thank you so much for your support.
