Dwayne was in an accident the morning of November 2, 2019. He was cutting down a tree and the tree split the wrong way unexpectedly  falling down on him crushing his leg (fracturing his right femur) and causing severe damage to his upper leg. Dwayne was found about 2-3 hours later by his wife,  Angel. He was rushed by star flight to the hospital where he immediately underwent surgery. He arrived just in time to even have a chance at saving his leg. The amazing team of Doctors and Nurses at St. Joseph's repaired the vein in his leg as he had no circulation. They also temporarily fixed his femur with an external rod. When Dwayne fell on the ground he punctured a hole in the back of his thigh causing him to lose blood. They had to give Dwayne 2 units of blood when he arrived and more throughout the next day. They left the wounds open with a vacuum pac on the top of thigh to prevent infections and help the healing process, while keeping a close eye on the entire leg. He has a pulse and circulation in his lower leg. He does have some feeling in his thigh and lower leg which is great news.

Friday 11/8/2019:
He underwent his second surgery Friday morning. In surgery Dwayne had his broken femur repaired and the external rod removed. That went well. Earlier in the week he developed whats called compartment compression syndrome. The leg swelled so much that they had to make a very large incision on his lower leg when he got there Saturday to relieve pressure or everything in the leg would have exploded. In surgery they put a vacuum wound pac on the lower part of the leg to help speed up the healing process with that. He also had a very small piece of the muscle that was dead in the upper part of the leg and they removed it. They will go in next week to see if there will be more dead muscle or if its healing right. That may have just been from laying for so long before found and that part of the muscle didn't do well. If more muscle is found dead then they will figure out where to go from there. This may cause an issue with the leg not healing. It’s just to early to tell right now. The vascular vein and tissues in the leg are looking really good and working so far with him having some feeling back in the leg and circulation. He's been running a low grade fever for a few nights so they did some blood work and he has a small infection in his body. They added more antibiotics to give to him. He also came out of recovery with low blood pressure and high heart rate. They tested his blood for that and he will be getting more blood to help with that here soon.

Unfortunately, he will possibly be staying longer in the hospital before going to rehab. Next week they will know more.

Friday was a really rough day for Dwayne and      took a toll on his precious wife Angel. Remember to keep Angel and their boys in your prayers for strength and comfort.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR DWAYNE & HIS LOVING CHRISTIAN FAMILY AS HE HAS A LONG ROAD AHEAD.

Dwayne, Angel, Zach and Devin would like to
Thank everyone for all the calls, visits, text
messages, love, and support during this time.
They are just amazed how much love and
support everyone has shown them. They would
like to Thank everyone for taking care of meals, and their home while in the hospital.  They
would like to send a huge Thanks to the
individuals who are helping build a ramp at their house. This means a lot to them.  A HUGE special Thank You to the Deanville Volunteer Fire
Department for assisting at the scene and for
the quick response time, along with his family
assisting with getting the tree off him with a
tractor, and stabilizing him.  ❤️ God Bless you!

Dwayne is a fighter and has been in such
good spirits. He does enjoy visitors and misses
all his family and friends.  He can't wait to see
their fur baby Penny. He really misses her and
wants Angel to sneak her into the hospital. He
also suggested he could be wheeled to entrance and give her a hug. He watched his Dallas
Cowboys on Sunday. I know he won't miss a
game. Angel will have to keep him calm on game days.

This GoFundMe account and other Benefit bank accounts have been set up to help the family
with medical expenses and any financial needs
they might encounter in the months ahead.

May God grant Dwayne strength and continued healing in the days ahead.

I am the LORD who heals you.
