Dwayne Dalton is more than a fighter, he is a survivor. No stranger too hard work he fought his way to the top. Winning multiple titles and Golden Gloves twice. Even when you play by the rules nothing is guaranteed. Shortly before Olympic trials 4 Taekwondo . For the next seven years he fought to get back 2 his fighting shape. Set his sights on boxing title and turning pro. But once again it was not meant to be. Just 3 days before signing his contract to go to Las Vegas for boxing he was hit by a drunk driver and suffered a head injury ending his boxing career forever. But being a fighter he picked himself up and did the next best thing Dwayne began coaching boxing, helping troubled youth, find their passion in the ring of Life. He opened gyms in British Columbia and finally his hometown. But once again he must find the strength for his hardest fight. In 2010 while building a nursery for his fifth baby an explosion caused burns over 75% of his body. He was flown to a Halifax burn unit in critical condition. His family were told that he had only hours to live but they didn't realize what kind of fighter they were dealing with. After 3 years in the hospital and being told he may never walk again Dwayne went home in a wheelchair with unwavering determination to prove them wrong he did. After 7 years of painful physio he not only could walk but once again is opening a boxing gym to help the youth in our community. But being on disability to do it on his own is more than he can do. So uncharacteristically he admits he needs help. So we are helping him by asking you all to help him in this fight cause this is his goal to stop bullying, lead people down this journey of hope with him.
