Giving Roscoe a chance

Donation protected

A few weeks ago I was informed that there was a dog that was found in the local area...I know that sounds like an everyday occurence, but this had a story with it. The dog's name is Roscoe, he was found wondering by a mother and daughter and they took him to a local shelter to see if he was microchipped. They were so happy to hear that he was, but that was short lived. When the owner was contacted to let them know that their dog was found, the response was " I don't want him, you can kill him if you want." We were shocked! I was contacted with his story and then I quickly started to spread the word about him locally through facebook. The response was overwhelming and so many people were touched by his story. The mother and daughter that found him, couldn't keep him, so he was picked up by animal control....we all know that once an animal goes to a shelter, their time becomes borrowed time. I was able to locate the shelter he was taken to and rushed to go pick him up. He went to a very temporary foster and Roscoe was having a very difficult time with the other dogs there. Roscoe went to 2 other foster homes before finally coming across a family that was PERFECT for him. Just when we thought that Roscoe was safe, the poor boy was handed another rough situtation. After being take to his new Veterinarian, the found out that Roscoe has cancer is his lymph nodes. Which led us to believe that his original owner knew this and that's the reason he didn't want him bag. The family that took him in has just recently lost their dog of 14 yrs to cancer a month before deciding to adopt Roscoe. It seems like poor Roscoe can't catch a break....Roscoe's new best friend is a 6 year old boy who loves him to pieces. Roscoe is a sweet young boy who deserves a chance for a happy life. In order to give him a chance to try to beat this cancer he needs to go through a 19 week treatment that will give him that chance. This treatment cost about $200 a week and we are asking for help either by donations or pledges from people to help cover a week's treament. So far we have 3 weeks of treatment covered. All the money is going directly to his Vet's office at Best Care Animal Hospital in New Port Richey. Feel free to call them and verify if you want to [phone redacted]. Donations can be made through here or if you feel more comfortable, you can drive by and directly make a donation at their office. We know there are many animals that need help, and any amimal that can be help will make a difference.
