GoFundMe for Ladies High School Softball Program
If you have $10, $25, $50 or more earmarked for a charitable cause and are inclined to support ladies high school sports, our fundraiser is worthy of your consideration. This GoFundMe page and video was created out of necessity and love for softball.
Each year, the Dougherty Valley High School (DVHS) Softball Program starts the season with a deficit. The cost of operating a non-profit 501(c)(3) high school softball program is much greater than money received. The burden falls on the lady softball players to find creative ways to raise money to cover the deficit. While we also run smaller local fundraisers, it's just not enough.
To help cover this deficit, our spring 2018 GoFundMe Goal is $10,000. Now consider, this is not NCAA college sports where the money finds a way into the hands of players and their families! This is Junior Varsity and Varsity Softball teams, where the donations raised go to basic expenses like costly equipment, field maintenance, coaching, reserves for uniforms, among other things. The love for softball is really about love to play sports and compete, affection for our teammates, and opportunity to round out a rigorous academic high school experience. As you will see from the video, we manage to accomplish all this. And we can do more, with your help.
