Trooper Dokken who helped needs you

Donation protected
My name is Michelle Phillips-Dokken. I joined the Colorado State Patrol on July 17, 2000, and served honorably as a Trooper in Golden and Denver, and a Corporal in Grand Junction. While I was on duty in June of 2007, I was rear ended by a truck traveling at 50 mph, which resulted in a back injury that limited my ability to perform my duties as a law enforcement officer. I was later diagnosed on April 4, 2008 with Stage 4 Non-Curable Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, also known as B cell lymphoma. I was retired from the Colorado State Patrol on June 8, 2008 at 50% of my salary. The first surgery for my cancer was the removal of my spleen. In just the last year and a half, I have had three lymph nodes removed from my neck in addition to chemotherapy treatments. About a year ago, my immune system shut down, so every month I have had to undergo gamunex (blood) infusions. Due to the past four years of chemotherapy I now have osteoporosis. For two of those years, the bones in both my feet kept breaking. I do have the best insurance policy offered, but even with that, I am still in debt--approximately $45,000 in medical bills. I pay over $100 to collection agencies each month, and my newest therapy will cost an estimated $20,000. I had been refinishing furniture to help supplement my income, but for the next four months, I fear I will be unable to do much of this. Thank you for taking your time to read this, and please consider helping in any way you feel led.
