Re- Development Application A004465701 by Dunland Property Pty Ltd of Mercy Centre Site,
22 Morris Street, Wooloowin.
On Thursday March 1st the objection we lodged with the Planning and Environment Court against the development by Dunland Property of the Mercy Centre site on Morris Street, was heard in Court.
We are not lawyers and represented ourselves.
The judge ruled that our appeal against the development go ahead. Now we progress to the next level and the Court has ordered us to provide expert reports on traffic and planning. These are not reports we can put together ourselves, the Court requires expert reports.
These expert reports and documents are needed to support our case and disprove Dunland Developments and Brisbane City Council’s claims the development and the subsequent traffic it generates will not have an impact on the liveability of the surrounding community.
We have obtained a quote from PSA Consulting Australia to conduct these reports. A copy of the quote is attached.
The quote for the traffic and planning report is $10 270.
I am sure you will agree that this is a lot of money, far more than we were expecting such a report to cost.
Up until now we have funded the court costs and other sundries out of our own personal funds, but these next costs are very large and prohibitive.
We are writing to ask if you would be willing to make a financial contribution to help off-set some of these costs.
Any funds donated will go only towards paying for these expert reports.
Please be aware that even with these reports we may not get the changes to the Dunland Development we want. We are little fish battling a large and well-resourced shark.
Dunland is represented by a large law firm with many resources. They have already submitted their reports to the Brisbane City Council, who have agreed with Dunland that their Development will not cause any adverse traffic and planning issues, which is why we are now in Court.
