Dunkirk Refugee Camp Women's Centre

With International Women's Day fast approaching, we are raising money to buy and bring essential supplies to the refugees at the Women's Centre at the Dunkirk Refugee Camp.
The Grande-Synthe camp de la Liniere (Dunkirk) camp is 'home' to up to 2000 refugees, many of whom found themselves here after the Jungle closed, and are now living day to day in squalid and unsafe conditions. The Women's Centre was built specifically to give women and children a safe place to come and rest, and to feed their babies.
These women and children are particularly vulnerable, and there is limited help and support for them beyond the valiant efforts of a small group of 6-7 volunteers.

At the moment, women and babies/children in the camp desperately need the following items:
* Nappies (size 5&6)
* Sudocrem
* Adult diapers (so that the women do not need to go out to the toilets after dark)
* Baby Shampoo
* Baby Wipes
* Toilet Paper
* Sanitary Towels
Your donation will go directly to buying these goods in bulk.
-------- THE PLAN ----------
We will be driving over to Dunkirk (which is just 30 miles from British Shores) in a van which, we hope, will be packed solid with these essential items which will help the women and their children with their day to day lives.
We will be travelling either the weekend of the 11th or 18th March.
We came to hear of this camp through a friend who is a journalist and visited the camp and the supply centre last week. We are in touch with Care4Calais to ensure we can deliver the goods to the right place.
