Dulce Garcia Border Dreamer to DC

Donation protected

Hi family and friends, my name is Dulce M. Garcia. I benefit from Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals  (DAC). I am also an attorney in San Diego, California. My family and I came to the U.S. when I was four years old. Unfortunately, because my oldest brother is three years older than I am, he did not qualify for DACA. I live with that guilt every day while my family remains without protection. My brother and my community is the reason we are in this fight for permanent protection from deportation.

Trump’s decision to end the DACA program has instilled fear and uncertainty especially in these areas where family and friends of dreamers are vulnerable to an already massive deportation force. Half of all of dreamers live in the four southern border states: California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.

My first thought when I heard Jeff Sessions’ announcement rescinding DACA was, “we should sue.” And, we did. Five other Dreamers and I, filed a lawsuit against Trump and the administration. But, a favorable decision by the Court will only protect DACA, it will not protect our families.

SO WHAT NEXT? We must pressure politicians that claim to support us.

San Diego Border Dreamers will continue to meet with congressional representatives and elected government officials to pressure them to become CLEAN DREAM Act champions.

It is our calling on Congress to finally pass a CLEAN DREAM ACT without using dreamers as bargaining chips for border protection. We will not settle for a resolution that protects us but criminalizes our families! We will not accept further militarization of our communities.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 to able to continue to fly out dreamers to Washington DC and have our voices heard.

San Diego Border Drearms urges EVERYONE to ACT NOW and support a CLEAN DREAM ACT BILL that will shield not only the 800,000 dreamers but that will protect our mothers, fathers, siblings and the rest of our families.

Please join us in the fight for a CLEAN DREAM ACT. This means everything to me. We’d appreciate all and ANY support you can provide and even the tiniest of help can make a difference.

COMO HUMANOS, NOS MANTENEMOS JUNTOS DURANTE LAS DIFICULTADES. APOYA A LOS DREAMERS Y A SUS FAMILIAS.
