Naomi's Manus Christi Mission Trip

Dear friends and family:
I hope your year has been blessed and that God is doing many wonderful things in your life as He is in mine. God has been doing wonderful things in my life and I wish to do more for the world around me.
God has presented me with an opportunity to go on a challenging mission trip this Summer to help the disadvantaged and elderly people of the Tygart River Valley. From June 17 through June 22, I will be in West Virginia with the IGNITE Catholic Youth Ministry of St. Joseph Parish in York, PA painting, fixing roofs, making ramps for the handicapped, fixing stairs, and spreading the love and joy of Christ. I will also be participating in communal prayer experiences and service, such as cleaning and repairs, at the diocesan facility where my youth ministry will be staying.
God opened a door for me to develop a greater heart of compassion for His people, and you are able to share in this compassion in several ways. Firstly, I ask you will pray for me and the nineteen peers from my parish who are participating. I appreciate your prayers that God will prepare us for our visit and bless our efforts as we minister to the people of West Virginia. I also ask that you pray for my financial needs to be met. In order to attend the mission trip, I need to raise $515, which covers the cost of travel, meals, lodging, building supplies, tools, etc. Any amount I receive in excess will be used to help my peers who are unable to raise the full amount. All money raised above our overall total need will be donated to the Bishop Hodges Pastoral Center, of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, to cover the cost of additional materials, tools, and supplies for the projects we will be working on during the trip.
Another way to share in God’s compassion is to help provide that financial support. Any amount you are able to give is greatly appreciated! Included in this letter is a return envelope for you to use if you feel led to contribute. I need to raise all my funds by May 1, 2018. Please make checks payable to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Whether you feel led to contribute financially and/or through prayer, I am thankful for all your support! I look forward to doing the work God has for me in West Virginia and letting you know how God has worked through my team when I return.
