Duhig Family

As most of you know by now, our friend Tom Duhig was tragically taken from us days ago. Before he passed, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Tom's family and hearing stories about what a wonderful, funny, thoughtful, incredibly generous and loving man he was. So generous, that he even donated all of his organs to help others. 

Tom passed after choking on his food at a restaurant and not getting oxygen in time. Though I wish I had had more time to get to know Tom myself, after speaking with my family and his own I am confident that Tom would have wanted this tragedy to be turned into something positive somehow, and sure that he would never want what happened to him to happen to anyone else.

Jamie and I have decided to start this GoFundMe in Tom's name and have organized for all donations to go to a CPR/Heimlich Maneuver Training Organization in the greater Chicago Area. The donations will pay for the trainers to go to restaurants and bars to train the staff there on what to do in an emergency so that if a situation like Tom's ever arises again - the staff is prepared. 

We are asking for everyone, whether you are able to make a donation or not, to please send us the name of a restaurant or bar that you went to with Tom, or one you know that he loved. Those will be the first places we send trainers to. 

While we have focused on Tom's home of Chicago as our starting point, Jamie and I can also arrange training in any other state - so please don't hesitate to send us the name of the restaurant that means the most to you, no matter where it is.
