D.U.E.C.E.S. Inc. Needs A Building

Good day, my name is Clifton Aaron Hinton and I am a 35 year old person of color from the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, New York (11212). I am a high school graduate still in pursuit of my college degree. Ironically I placed my studies on hold to pursue a different endeavor… one that seemed much more pertinent and detrimental in these crucial times of need. I noticed that we are on the brink of a new day and a new age where the power curve in this civilization is slowly yet consistently turning. My enlightenment however, means nothing to me if I cannot share my knowledge and provoke some type of effective change to the way our people and I think and also the way we've been treated for the past 3+ centuries. For this particular reason I started DYEACES Inc. aka DUECES. D.U.E.C.E.S. is an acronym that stands for Do yoU's Enlightenment & Cultural Empowerment Services. D.U.E.C.E.S. Inc. is a grassroots, community based, non-profit youth organization that is geared towards YOUTH EMPOWERMENT and COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. The primary purpose of the organization is to establish a central location where individuals, families and youth in the Brownsville, East New York section of Brooklyn and surrounding communities can gain access to resources and developmental tools that will promote awareness of civic responsibilities, instill strong moral values, and discourage violence, while enriching these individuals socially, culturally and morally. The purpose further includes creating projects that will provide exposure to arts, music, cultural, and civic activities designed to enhance lifestyle and livelihood, provide positive learning experiences, and build self-esteem and self-confidence and promote respect for self, family and peers. In a nutshell we would aim to obtain or construct a building where the proper services (needed and wanted) can be brought into our community and we as a people can become a more productive and prosperous part of today’s society and civilization. The purpose further includes creating projects that will provide exposure to arts, music, cultural and civic activities designed to enhance lifestyle and livelihood, provide positive learning experiences, build self-esteem and self-confidence and promote respect for self, family and peers. The Mission: Founded in 2014, we are committed to empowering the young people ages 13-25 of the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, N.Y. to develop themselves and their community by equipping them with employable skills delivered through educational and vocational training, mentoring, internships and other literacy programs available through after-school care, evening classes, weekends and summer programs. As they are the potential future leaders of their community, we work hard to instill core values such as loyalty, integrity, respect, courage and selflessness. The Vision: For the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, N.Y. to become a positive and safe environment conducive to the thriving of families and businesses as it becomes a cultural, political and economic power house. How can I help!?   -(We are so glad you asked)- We are honestly sick and tired of seeing Brownsville and East New York portrayed in the mass media as some type of war zone where only savages live. Our message to the world is that is that lots of decent people reside here and just because everyone will not be able to make it out of the neighbor(HOOD), doesn’t mean that there aren’t people here that would like to make it better where we live. It is imperative that we replace the negative image of our community that clouds the judgement of the masses on us by exposing the limitless potential within the existing residents, of whom would love to assist us being the catalyst in creating a new character for our neighbors and neighborhoods. Anything that you see fit to donate to help us achieve our mission would be greatly appreciated. It’s not always about money, though we need it very much to get the job done. We also honestly need your times, energy, ideas, bodies, spirit, interest, skills, knowledge, land and/or building space. God bless you for your consideration and your cooperation. So in conclusion I reiterate, that all I am trying to do is attain a proper venue that I can continue to train these future leaders of tomorrow, with the proper morals and values we need to be more prevalent in today’s society. I’m honestly tired of losing so many of our young ladies to the fast paced NYC lifestyle or low paced welfare queen role. Even worse, every young man in my neighborhood aspires only to be a ball player or a gangster rapper which statistically speaking their shot at success is extremely little to none. Not to mention, the recruiters for these industries dare not venture into this territory to come see us in action due to the negative portrayal we face from the mass media which only deems it important to visit Brownsville when there is a senseless act of violence that has occurred. The statistics would furthermore state that the overwhelming majority of us never complete high school and would never receive the opportunity to meet a college recruiter because of that very reason.           We truly appreciate any and all donations you may have for us. Nothing is too big or too small for us. If you don’t want to donate cash and like to send a gift or a service, that will be more than welcomed as well. Thanks again for your time, consideration and most of all donations. May God continue to bless you that you be in the position to continue to bless others.  P.S. if nothing else please simply share the link to other people in your network. Every little bit helps!? C.
