Matthew's wish! A trip to Florida

Matthews life, like many others was changed drastically in November 2013. A small bump on his upper gum line, turned out to be cancer. Four days later he was forced to retire from his job of 10 years.
Matt and I met back in 1978 when I moved to Ohio from Michigan. I met Matt through my husband.
Newly married and my husband in the military we were looking for a roommate to help with living expenses.
Matt moved in with us and this started a friendship of 37 years.
We kept in touch through broken relationships and lifes bumps in the road. In November of 2010, My marriage of 30 years ended. I was devastated. My job at Meijer had moved from Columbus Ohio to Canal Winchester Ohio so it only made sense to move to Canal Winchester.
Matt is from Canal and our paths again crossed.
With both of us divorced and struggling financially we decided to move in together.
When Matt lost his job he did not receive any disability for 7 months. It was another financial blow for him. Together we have made it work.
After 3 mouth surgeries, radiation and chemo, the cancer is still growing.
If Matt stops his treatment, the doctors give him six months to a year to live. With continued treatment he has a 10% chance to beat this evil.
I want to get Matt to Bradenton Florida. This is one of his most loved areas of Florida.
It is not in my nature to ask for money, however I will do whatever it takes to get Matt to Florida.
Any amount will help. If you only give five dollars, that's five dollars closer to my goal.
We will be driving to Florida and staying with friends and relatives when we arrive. I can't stop Matts cancer, that is in Gods hands. I just want to give him a chance to see the ocean and the gulf coast, just to see him smile and Laugh.  Help me mae Matthews wish come true; God speed a cure for cancer!  Live every day as if it were your last!  Live Laugh and Love. Karlene!
