My name is Evelyn Callender. I am the wife of Duane Callender. My husband was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on Friday, July 29, 2016. This diagnosed came as a surprise and was the result of an emergency room visit. What we have learned is that this cancer is fast growing and aggressive and will require intense chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant before Duane can be cured. This will be a long battle and process. WE are needing the help of our friends and family to raise money to pay for medical treatment, nurse care, and living expenses during the time Duane will be hospitalized and unable to work.
Duane is known by many as the guy who can always make people smile, or laugh, but beyond that he is a great husband, father, brother, son, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Duane and I are newlyweds; (it will be 2 years in November) for those who don’t know us we have three children that rely on us to everyday. Charlotte our 11 month old, was born 9 weeks early and still requires medical treatments from a variety of specialist, Corinthia our 8 years old is in 3rd grade and she is exceptionally gifted, and Brady our 5-year-old who just started Kindergarten. He is loving and kind and has a beautiful heart.
Duane's main goal in life has always been to provide and be there for his family. However, because of his recent diagnosis he will no longer be able to do that until he is able to be cancer free. Your donations would not only mean the world to us it would ensure that Duane can focus his energy on beating cancer rather than worrying about how he will pay for it and how his family will survive.
