I wanted to try and help this family in their time of need?
Here is a brief story to explain what they have been through in the words of one of the daughters. Our mom was diagnosed with small cell carcinoma February 2018, she did chemo and radiation and in Aug found it spread to her brain more treatment but she was cancer free briefly. We found out last spring it was now in her esophagus they started immunotherapy in the hope to get it to stablize. Unfortunately 3 weeks ago we found out it had not and she would no longer respond to treatment. We were told she has only weeks.
My mom has been the sole caregiver to our dad who suffered a brain aneurism in 1992 he was left with some brain damage and due to the seizures n strokes has dementia she has also been the Host mom to a 62 year old autistic man since 2015 when his parents passed away she had worked with him for 12 years at Ameristar and couldn't bare to see him go to a home so adult DHS placed her with him as his power of attorney.
My parents have faced many obstacles over the past few years, December 2017 they lost their home in a fire and lost our family cat Hannah. Thankfully they we're fully insured and they we're able to purchase a new home & replace lost furniture it was shortly after that my mom got sick and diagnosed.
We are asking for help in anyway with food,giftcards so we can just pick up food for them. I have 3 sisters & a brother and we do our best to make sure their needs are met but it's not always easy for us to get out there n make dinner due to us all having kids and full time jobs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Recently our parents were on the local news KETV because the community got together and gave my mom the wedding she had always dreamed of that she was never able to have. The articles can be found on KETV,MSNBC & the daily nonpareil. Their names are Jerry & Rose Dixon. Again, thank you for considering helping our family in our time of need.
I, with many vendors, put together that wedding that was referenced above.It was my pleasure to do for such a deserving family. I just believe we can do more. They were given a pretty hefty price for the funeral services and after that day comes, their dad will have to be relocated as he will not be able to stay in the house on his own. Please join me in helping this wonderful family. Monitary donations as well as gift cards are both welcome. Just want to make sure they don't have to sorry about so much at the moment, i want them to enjoy every second they have left with her.
