Friends and family,
Recently our brother Cord courageously decided to enroll himself into rehab for alcoholism, which he has been suffering with for many years. He is a father of 9 and married to the love of his life, Kathy. She has steadfastly by his side during the many complications.
Cord went into rehab with high hopes and faith of a full recovery to be there for and with his family in the many years to come.
He ran into several complications in rehab where he was in such distress that the rehabilitaion center transported him by ambulance to the University Hospital. He appeared to be non-responsive and doctors feared the worst; the first being Wernick-Korsakoff syndrome, which can be common among severe alcoholics. After testing results showed his liver and brain were not damaged in the way they had anticipated.
However, he is still in the ICU.
CORD IS STILL IN CRITICAL CONDITION!
His doctors found that he was over medicated by the rehab center and suffered severe reactions from the medications. Cord finally woke up after a of couple days and has made some conversation. He is still in and out of conciousness.
His family are hopeful of a full recovery and yet do not know fully what to expect.
Cord's family is in need of help recovering from high unexpected medical expenses. As he has been unable to work recently and Kathy is constantly by his side.
