Publish Nanaba's Book

Project: Raise funds to publish Nanaba's book "Quran: Guidance for Mankind"

The journey

As most of you know, our dear late grandfather (my Nanaba), Mr. Ghiasuddin Ahmed Khan, wrote a book regarding the miraculous relationship between the Qur'an and scientific knowledge/discoveries. His passion for this subject is clear through his writing in which he details his keen observations and research. His goal in writing this book was to share what he learned in the hopes of bringing awareness to the truth of Islam and bringing people closer to Allah.

Nanaba had his daughter (my mother) type up and edit his handwritten manuscript so he could send it to some Muslim newspapers and publishing houses. However, not knowing exactly who would be most appropriate to pursue, he did not receive a response. He then gave me the manuscript with the hope that I may eventually find a way to help him reach his goal.

After receiving the manuscript, I posted it online for family and friends to read. However, of course there is a difference between something posted online and something one can actually touch and feel. Therefore, in 2013 I explored self-publishing, but that also did not go far. Now, there is a new, but well established and growing Muslim publishing house (Niyah Press) that has started here in Detroit. I contacted them with the manuscript and they said they can publish it for a fee of $2,000. The fee includes everything from A-Z (editing, design, distribution, and marketing- a complete breakdown is provided below). Although any amount, more or less, is appreciated, for a general idea, this means if 20 people are able to contribute $100 then we would be able to pull this project off and make Nanaba's dream come true, Insha'allah.

Why this is important

As I already mentioned above, this has been a long-time dream of Nanaba. Unfortunately, it was not achieved during his lifetime, but having this book published will be a great tribute to his life and passions. Most importantly, the gift of knowledge, especially Islamic, is everlasting. It will serve as sadaqa jariya for him and something that will forever benefit him and others, Insha'allah.

Another reason why we should publish this book is because it will be incredibly meaningful for Nanima. Being able to hold Nanaba's words and dream physically in her hands will be the greatest gift to her.

Goals

My goal is for us to be able to raise the $2,000 by May. Nanaba's death anniversary is in May and it will be of great significance for Nanima if we are able to secure the funding by then and inform her of the soon to be published book, Insha'allah.

Once the book is published, any and all proceeds from sales will go towards charitable projects in Nanaba and Nanima's names that will be decided upon after discussing with Nanima, Insha'allah.

Please consider donating to this cause and sharing it with other relatives. It will be a memorable family gift for Nanaba and Nanima who spent their lives in commitment and dedication to their children and grandchildren. May Allah eternally bless them in this life and the Hereafter.

Jazakhallah Khair,

Nabila
