Support Sr.Yasmine to recovery

In the Summer of 2013, Sr. Yasmine Steffens woke up in the middle of the night unable to breathe. She was rushed to the hospital where she then collapsed and became unconscious. She went into cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated twice before being placed in a medically induced coma. For months to follow, Sr.Yasmine was in critical condition leaving her with an anoxic brain injury. She was transferred to five different hospitals where she also experienced a stroke. These injuries have left her disabled, requiring full time care around the clock.

Unfortunately, Sr. Yasmine and her family are still facing a long hard battle trying to recover as much as they can from the long medical battle.

As a first hand witness, I have never in my life seen so much courage and strength come from people my own age and even younger (mA). There is no way I can put into words what an amazing job Sr. Yasmine and Br. Yusuf has done raising their children because they have been by her side, doing the best they can, to help her get the best recovery possible. Not only do they schedule their lives around the need of their mother but they also must maintain their own hectic work and school schedule. Only one can imagine having so much on their plate. Even though the Mohamed family have been pulling through, I and many others, still feel that this community (that she has long served) can still make this process somewhat easier.

From my understanding Sr. Yasmine is in need of a home health nurse to help care for her while her family is at school and work. We all know that both, medical bills and the cost of a nurse, can easily exceed anyone’s financial abilities. So I ask all of you to help make this battle easier on the Mohamed family. Whatever you can do to help, Allah will give you in tenfold in the hereafter insha’Allah.
