Support DSA's Future Filmmakers

Greetings Friends and Family! 

 

We are thrilled to tell you that a FILM PROGRAM PATHWAY will be offered at Durham School of the Arts (www.dsa.dpsnc.net) beginning in 2016! This is truly exciting, not only for film students, but everyone here. Film is an art medium that integrates so many other artists from our school. 

We live in a visual world. What started as a class of three students in 2003 has become a class of 19, PLUS an after school club that meets weekly to write, produce, shoot and edit student made films.  

With so many motivated students we need to upgrade our tools now to fully support the students whose goal is to create films that would be accepted in student film festivals. 

 Thanks to some incredible help from school administration, the DSA Foundation and a few parents we have a strong start in refreshing our equipment bought in 2008 and we've raised $7,000 dollars toward our goal.

 We still need $7500 and your fully tax-deductible donation will get us there fast.

 Here's what your funds will be used to purchase: two advanced cameras for experienced students, computer and software upgrades for editing, cables,  a second audio kit, boom poles and mics, and finally, entrance fees to student film festivals.
