UPDATE - With our 24-Hour Challenge now underway, both our original goal of €1000 and our revised goal of €1500 have been exceeded. We've decided to to aim higher and keep the fundraising going. We want to raise as much money as possible to contribute to the longterm servicing and maintenance of the defibrillators by the Rathmullan Community DeFib Watch. We really appreciate your support for a really great cause.

Following on from the success of last year's 24-Hour Challenge, the Kinnegar team are challenging themselves to do even better in 2023. The aim is again to keep moving for 24 hours, this time in aid of a defibrillator for the Kinnegar*.

Our target is €1000 which will help with the purchase of this critically important life-saving equipment which will be there for all of us who use this wonderful beach. The purchase of the equipment is expensive but it's the longterm servicing and maintenance of defibrillators that poses the bigger challenge. We will to contribute to this aspect of the project also by supporting the Rathmullan Community DeFib Watch which looks after the maintenance and upkeep of all the defibs in the Rathmullan community.

Kinnegar Brewing has a core team of 14 players, bolstered for the summer months by a topnotch squad of interns and students who help carry the extra weight in peak season. We're also going to be joined in our effort by some former Kinnegar teammates who will participate from such far-flung fields as Munich, New York and Vancouver.

Between us all, there will be someone running, cycling, hiking, swimming, horse riding or rollerblading from 3pm on Friday 28th, straight through until 3pm on Saturday 29th July. We'll update you on the rota as soon as we have it figured out!

We're delighted that in association with our 24-Hour Challenge, a Community Walk will take place on the Kinnegar at 9am on Saturday 29 July, to raise awareness of the value of defibrillators and the work of the Rathmullan Community DeFib Watch Group. The meeting point is the carpark at the south end of the Kinnegar (that's the end closest to Rathmullan) beside Andersons holiday cottages. For further information you can contact Lisa on [phone redacted] or Eileen on [phone redacted]. Or just turn up and meet some fellow Kinnegar-users!

*The Kinnegar is the beach on Lough Swilly after which Kinnegar Brewing is named. You'll find it just north of Rathmullan in Co Donegal. The name Kinnegar derives from the Irish word coinín (rabbit). The sandunes along the beach were once an extensive coinicéar (rabbit warren).
