Flooded Car Replacement

On August 5, 2017 my neighborhood in Mid City New Orleans flooded with several feet of water during a heavy thunderstorm in the span of an hour.  My car filled with water past the steering wheel and is now unsavageable.  I plan to donate it to the Kidney Foundation if they have use for it.
 
I am seeking donations toward a new vehicle which sits higher off the ground than my Saturn.  I worked really hard for over a year to buy that little car and am pretty upset to find myself in the same situation once again.  I use my car most importantly for getting to school in Kenner, which is too far to get a lyft to every week, among the other usual things one needs a vehicle for. I had liability insurance and they will not be paying for any damages.

I am aiming to buy a reliable truck or suv and after looking at prices online, $5000 seems a reasonable amount to expect to pay for one.  I need this replacement as soon as humanly possible and any help that can be offered is deeply appreciated.
         
 Many wonderful friends have asked already how they can help.  This is by far the most important thing that would make a difficult time immediately better.  I would be grateful if any of you could also share this on your own timelines, expecially with out of state friends or family, as I know my New Orleans community are largely in the same boat (no pun intended) as me.  

Thank you all again so much for the outpouring of love and support you showed immediately as this disaster unfolded and continue to show as we in New Orleans assess damage and begin to clean up.  I am a very lucky lady to have such loyal and kind friends.
