Not Your Typical Save The Farm Campaign
The Drunken Duck Farm is a small female-owned and operated fiber & feather farm with a sense of humor. The farm focuses on education, sustainability, and a zero-waste philosophy.
Just The Facts
We need to raise $17,700 to cover closing costs and to bring the farm up to functional:
Closing Cost $5,750.00
Current & Upcoming Vet Bills $1000.00
2,000+ Sq Ft of Fencing $4,000.00
Improvement to Pasture & Garden Area $2,500.00
Animals Structure & Hay Storage $4,450.00
The Long Story ( AKA All the Drama Llama)
The farm is in the process of purchasing not only the land and farmhouse that it currently rents, but the entire farmlands owned by the current landlord. Unfortunately the bank is requiring a much larger percentage down than was originally quoted, so all the extra money saved and previous fundraising is going towards the deposit and closing costs. This leaves no savings for current vet bills, new fencing, and much needed improvements to the farm.
Free Range Creativity.
The immediate priority is purchasing the property, and securing the health and safety of the animals on the farm. However, afterwards the focus will be converting the 1,800+ Sq Ft. barn into a makers studio and workshop space. This maker studio will give craftsman a place to gather to quilt, sew, spin as well as take workshops on brewing, soap making, flower arranging, fire arts and even pottery. Space will also be used to assist in 4H workshops, classes and other farm educational activities for school-age children in the Germantown/Farmersville/Southeast Dayton Area.

In all honesty, the animals on the farm will benefit the most from this gofundme. Current 2021 summer/fall improvements to the animal area includes all new fencing ( keeping the animals in and predators out; there is nothing worse than getting a call about an alpalaca taking themselves for a walk into town), new birthing and milking structures for the goats, and larger free-range coop areas for all the various fowl breeds and the bunnies ( yes free range rabbits).
The changing of the fence lines will also give room for additional garden beds, duck ponds, and a lawn area perfect for concerts on the green and artist's easels.
Don't Feel Fenced In By This Benefit.
Right now cash is king on the farm ( Actual, King is our Crevcoeur Rooster), as closing costs, vet bills, and fencing our are most immediate concerns. However, there are other ways you can support the Drunken Duck Farm:
Purchase a Drunken Duck Shirt - $5 from every shirt goes straight to the farm fund. As a fun addition, each of the animals on the shirts are actual Drunken Duck animals
Lowes Gift Cards - We never turn down any free or recycled building materials, however all our improvement supplies are purchased from The Gross Lumber Company in Carlisle, OH and Lowes.
Rural King Gift Cards - We purchase our feed directly from Miami Valley Feed and Grain, however we get our medical supplies through Rural King. Currently all the goats are being treated daily for anemia and copper deficiency ( needing iron, copper, and vitamin b), the alpacas being treated for worms and malnutrition ( on feed and vitamin b), and Wanda who is being bottle fed ( bottles and milk).

We are constantly applying for small farm grants. However with so many farmers in need across the US, we are turning to our Farm social media fans, friends and family for any help we can. No matter the amount, from a $5 donation, to purchasing a shirt to sharing our story, we appreciate any and all help you can share.
