Drum Lessons For Indigent Students
My name is Larry Bennett and I own the Boulder Drum Studio in Boulder, Colorado where I offer private drum lessons. I have been a music teacher for over 30 years.
Jared Lizakowski was a student of mine for almost 4 years. He was a brilliant young man with a promising career in music when on October 26, 2016 at the age of 19, he died from a tragic motorcycle accident. He had a heart of gold with a never-ending smile, and was a supportive friend who was always very generous of his time.
To honor his memory, and through the help of donations, Jared's family and I created a studio funded program for low-income or indigent families called "Drumming for Jared" where students can take weekly drum lessons at no cost.
The Boulder Drum Studio will also make every attempt to provide the family with a drum set, so that the student can practice at home. In addition, each student in this program receives all the benefits of a paid student, such as participation in our bi-annual live streaming recitals, etc.
Funding for this program is only made possible with your support. To help low-income or indigent students fulfill their dream of becoming a musician, please make a donation.
Our lesson program tuition is $185 based on a 6 week program per student. No donation is ever too small, and helps to directly support this program.
