Accepted to College at 13!!! This is a whole miracle!!! May 5th, #GivingTuesday is DrNina's 14th Birthday!!! Instead of preparing for HS, Nina is searching for ways to fund her college start this August!!!!
Background:
As a single mother of three children in Brooklyn, this journey has been more than what we could have ever dreamed. Our babygirl who was born with developmental delays requiring years of speech, physical, occupational and behavioral therapy has been working so hard just to catch up!!! Yet here we are...Class of 2020!!! Her big sister is heading to Hampton University this August & now our babygirl DrNina has also been accepted college in Virginia too, Mary Baldwin University. With dreams of becoming a surgeon, Nina will be a Biochemistry major with her sights set on medical school by age 18.
Nina was blessed with acceptance & $20,000 in merit scholarships just a few weeks ago, leaving a $13,800 need gap. Immediately her amazing college & career student mentoring organization, the Dinner Table Doc. began searching for every scholarship who's deadline has not already passed. Nina (a DTD scholar since 2017) has been applying to as many as she possibly can. Unfortunately, almost all scholarships have a requirement of a high school transcript, Senior in HS or mininum age of 18.
How in the world are we going to pull this off especially in such trying times as these. Lord I know you have not brought her this far to leave her. Our friends and family called me on my belief in our village and the world that loves and supports our youth!
So please allow me to thank you in advance for every single token of love you so generously invest in DrNina's future. Wow...the beauty of it is, her future has actually arrived FOUR years sooner, her future is NOW!!! God Bless each of you and thank you for supporting her at this time.
