Driving it home for Devan

I know a young man that has been described as a "Hercules" by his peers. How do I know Devan? He is one of my son's best friends and they are on the JROTC, Black Knight Raider team at Sarasota Military Academy.

On October 2nd, 2017 Devan experienced something no 15-year-old should ever experience. Devan suffered a cardiac arrest at school.

Was it not for the calculated decisions and actions of his older sister, Brianna and peers, this experience would have had a very different outcome.

Devan was eventually airlifted to Johns Hopkins All Children's Hopital and admited to the Cardiac ICU in critical condition.

While in the ICU Devan required cooling therapy  to lessen the injury to his brain. He also required ventilation to help with breathing while in a medically induced coma.

On October 5th, 2017 the breating tube was removed and Devan could start his road to recovery.

More tests are scheduled to establish the cause of the cardiac arrest and he will need surgery to place a defribrillator to prevent future events.

As we all know, medical costs are astronomical. Devan also will need care at home for some time after his surgery and discharge from the hospital. During this time, he will require the care of his mom, Jackie, which means that she will have to take time off from work.

Money raised with this campaign will aid the Trecatin family to cover some of the costs while Devan is recovering.

The Trecartin family greatly appreciate all the prayers and support they have received to date. Please continue to pray for a complete recovery for Devan and strength for his family during this very challenging time.  All the money raised will assist them with decreasing the stress  associated with the cost aquired during this difficult time.
