Drinks Treats and Beats on 79th St

For the last 15 years my wife and I have dreamed of opening a coffee shop in the south shore neighborhood. As an Educator and a Music Producer, the coffee shop has always been a refuge for me. The coffee shop in general is a get away for all creatives, students, and community members seeking a space to commune with like minded people.
The problem however has been that we have had to travel outside of our community for this experience. So my wife and I have established the Heritage Café on 79th Street. This will be the first small business of this type opening in this area for many years. We are about a few weeks and a few thousand dollars away from having our GRAND OPENING and we need your contribution.
Our goal and vision is to re-establish East 79th Street as a viable commercial corridor and for Heritage Café to be it’s flagship. I want the residents of South Shore to be able to walk down the street and have a cup of coffee and a pastry in our neighborhood rather than having to drive to Bucktown, Downtown, or Logan Square to do the same.
Our intent is to be a neighbourhood coffee shop offering healthy and tasty options to members of our community. We also want to provide a meeting place for South Shore residents, offering Super Soul Sonic DJs, live performances, relevant reading materials and a space for local vendors and artisans.
With your contribution we will open at the start of 2018. You will become a member of the South Shores Mightiest Heroes and be celebrated on our Wall of Fame. UPDATE:
We have opened and there is still work to be done. 79th Street is a very blighted street in the South Shore community. For that reason, the outpour of love and support has been amazing for our coffee shop. Through conversations, we have gained further insight into the needs of our community. We will be working hard to make sure that we can make "Heritage Cafe" the space for growth and change on 79th. We are working on expanding our kitchen, and creating a mural for the purpose of advertising and beautification of the immediate area.
