Drinking Water for Hurricane Relief

Hi, my name is Zach Tarbill and I am raising funds to deliver cases of bottled water to hurricane victims in South Florida/Texas. While Texas is amid cleanup the stories of donations to the Red Cross and similar charities have seen delays in getting the actual products form their distribution centers to the actual impact zones. I hope to deliver as far in as I can make it safely to get relief to those affected in a more timely manner. 

Update: with the volume of support this campaign has recieved so far we are now going to try to rent a 16ft moving truck to take even more water than we could originally haul with my SUV and 6x12 uhaul trailer. 

We are planning to deliver the weekend of 9/15 to south Florida shelters and individuals after hurricane Irma and Jose have passed. In the event that it is still not safe to enter those areas of Florida beginning 9/15, I will be delivering to Houston shelters instead. At this time we cannot designate a specific shelter as we do not know the conditions and accessibility. We are working with those on the ground between tampa and ft. myers to determine where we can get in and what shelters are there to take on the water. 

I will update this posting of specific areas we are heading to once we know where we can make it safely and where the impact is the most devastating. 

Now that we are planning to take a 16ft moving truck we can carry on what appears to be at least 150 cases of water (weight is the issue here) but will need to also be planning for the fuel expense that comes with such a large truck. 

I will be using the funds to purchase water, truck, and fuel and then the remainder of the funds will be dispersed as per below: 

Any funds raised that remain after filling the Uhaul with as much as we can take will be donated to the Red Cross. 

At this time I am happy to take on physical donations of cases of water in the Kansas City and Omaha areas as well as monetary donations to purchase water.

Even if you can spare $3, that may be several days worth of safe drinking water to a family in need! Funds for water purchases are needed by 9/14, but as mentioned all other funds will go to the red cross so do not feel like 9/14 is the end date!
