Professor Dreyfus Archive Fund

Professor Hubert Dreyfus, my father and a world renowned Philosopher at UC Berkeley, passed away in April of 2017.  We, his family and friends, seek to create an online archive of his lectures and other teachings.

We seek to raise $20,000 in order to develop and support the website that will make available to the world the many lectures he has given over the years, as well as other types of documents and images that will properly express his teachings, who he was, and what he hoped to contribute to the world of philosophy.

Professor Dreyfus was instrumental in bringing the ideas of Continential philosophy into the Anglophone world of analytic philosophy, the predominant form of philosophy in recent academic philosophy. Continental philosophy is often left by the wayside in most academic settings, and because of this we want to make sure that there is a well maintained record of his contributions to the world of philosophy.

Please help us maintain Professor Dreyfus' legacy by making it available to all current and future students of philosophy and philosophical ideas.
