Drew Clayborn Still Needs A New Van

Donation protected
Many of you may know or heard of Drew Clayborn and The Drew Crew.  For those of you that have not,  Drew Clayborn is the young man who, on March 26, 2010, had an unimaginable freak accident.  Drew Clayborn broke  his neck while attempting to do a backflip that he was learning for the school musical.  Drew Broke his neck as high as you possibly can, C1 which is right at the brain stem!  This freak accident left Drew a quadriplegic with no movement whatsoever below his shoulders and dependant on a mechanical ventilator to breathe every breath he takes.  Drew was only 15 years old.

My name is LeDon Clayborn and I am Drew Clayborn's dad.  Drew, inspite of this horrific accident that took away the use of his body, but not his mind, immediately picked up where he left off and completed Walled Lake Central high school with honors and got accepted to the University of Michigan Ann Arbor where he is set to graduate next year with a degree in Bio Mathematics, Drew is now 21.   You can learn more about Drew and his journey by going to our website:  www.thedrewcrew.org  or you can google Drew Clayborn.
Recently we entered Drew in the National Mobility Awareness month local hero contest where the winners are given a brand new handicap accessible van.   The video above is the video we submitted to the contest as our evidence of why Drew should be awarded the new van.  Well inspite of all of the tremendous support he recieved from all over the world, Drew was not selected to win the new van that he needs and deserves.   Even though we are disappointed, we do believe that EVERY hero entered into the contest deserved a new van so we are very happy for all the winners.  Drew got over 12,000 votes from supporters over the course of one month which put him in the semi-finals of the contest!  we could not be more proud or grateful to all the support he recieved.
With that said, someone suggested that we start a gofundme page to see if we can STILL get Drew the van that he needs and deserves.  The goal is to raise 50,000 so we can purchase him a brand no van before he goes back to school in September.  So if you would like to help Drew get a new van and make his life a lot easier while he finishes school, please give to this cause and share as often as possible with everyone you know.  Each and every dollar counts and with your help with spreading the word I am sure we can meet this goal.  Thank you so much in advance!  and Go Blue!  Go Drew!
