Drew Wajnert Recovery Fund

Donation protected

Drew was in a severe crash about 2 weeks ago.  He was struck from behind by a drunk driver doing 85mph. After a week in ICU he's been moved to his own room, where he will be there for a while. He's undergone multiple surgeries on his spine.   He can now wiggle his fingers and toes. The doctors say it is too soon for a prognosis but they are hopeful.

We are starting this Go Fund Me page to ask for prayers and help,  for our long time friend,  A.K.A "Phan", A.K.A "Mr. Phan Phest", Drew.
He will have a lot of hospital and doctor bills to contend with when he is eventually released. We are looking for as much money as we can possibly raise to try and ease the worry of some of those bills so Drew can focus on healing. He has a very long road to recovery ahead of him.

Thanks for any help you can share.

UPDATE as of Dec. 2021:
First I want to thank everyone who has donated so far. It has been a tremendous help for Drew.

Drew hasn't stood on his own since the accident in March. BUT HE IS MAKING PROGRESS! He's on his 9th different hospital setting over the last 9 months, and the hospital journey has taken him all the way out to North Carolina and away from the Rocky Mountains he loves so much. But the other week Drew was able to stand up for the first time in almost 9 months. He was able to do that because of the place he was in before the insurance ran out. It's a Rehabilitation clinic in the Raleigh, NC area called "WakeMed Rehabilitation". They have a machine called a "Vector Machine"  that allowed them to take almost 100 lbs of Drew's body weight off of his feet, enabling him to stand up, and even pivot onto the bed, for the first time in ages. He's made great progress with this amazing facility, that costs about $5000 a day. His muscles are badly atrophied from 9 months confined to a bed and a motorized wheelchair, and he's got a long road ahead of him.

Here's the problem - he had to leave that hospital as the insurance no longer covered the treatment and he would need AT LEAST 2 more months of this Vector Machine to have a chance at getting strong enough to stand and walk on his own.
He has since gone back to the other rehab in Raleigh - where they do as much as they can to help him - but they don't have a vector machine, which means no more progress on getting up out of bed and the chair for now.

As you can see, he is doing better, but has an extremely long road ahead of him. Any help for Drew, so he can continue to afford the proper treatment, is appreciated and most needed. PLEASE SHARE THIS ANYWHERE YOU CAN
