Drew's Birthday Wish: Camp Courageous!

Hello Everyone! Thank you for taking the time to check out Drew's GoFundMe page!
Drew is my brother and is mentally challenged with Autism Spectrum Disorder - including Asperger’s Syndrome, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Attachment Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, Anxiety, and OCD. However, he is one of the most loving and caring people I've ever known. He never judges anyone and accepts everyone for who they are.
Drew has been going to Camp Courageous since he was 5 years old - every, single year! This will be his 22nd year! Camp Courageous provides year-round recreational and respite care opportunities for individuals with special needs. Camp Courageous is a non-profit organization that offers a variety of services including weeklong camp sessions, respite care weekends, winter camper care, family camp sessions, outdoor education sessions, and Courageous Travels. On an annual basis, Camp Courageous serves thousands of individuals with special needs ranging in age from 1 to 105!
In the past, Drew has been able to participate in programs to have his camp paid. He loves to help his cause! This year Drew was not going to Camp Courageous because the plan was to move to Arizona; however, our mother has been very ill off and on this last year, so the move hasn't happened. Since we didn't think Drew would be going to camp, not only did we not sign him up for camp, he didn't participate in any of the activities for funding.
Camp Courageous spots fill up fast, I took a chance and contacted them about Drew still going, but as expected, they were full. Then we lucked out! They called us back and a space opened up, so Drew can go this year! Woo Hoo! Camp is right around the corner and Drew's only disappointment is he doesn’t have time to do something to fund his trip. So, I talked to him about us setting him up a GoFundMe page as an early birthday present (his birthday is in August). He loved the idea and can say with pride, he raised the funding himself!
Please consider making a donation. Every dollar counts. He’s only trying to raise $600… It’s not very much, and $600 feels like $6,000 to him. Drew will feel like he’s made a difference and is helping to support himself. ☺️
Since Camp Courageous is a non-profit organization and accepts donations for campers who cannot afford to go to camp, any funds we raise above Drew's camp funding, we will donate to Camp Courageous so others may have the same great camp experience.
