Hello! We are Dresses to Dreams.
Each year, we empower young women to reach their full potential through a one-day event in February. This start by providing the opportunity for free prom apparel to young women who may not be able to afford a dress otherwise, and continues through a series of workshops focused on goal-setting and self-confidence at a time of transition. The group was started in 2011 with the name, “Enchanted Closet,” with just 20 members and 80 attendees. Now, Dresses to Dreams has 40 committee members, led by 16 executive board members, and hosts around 150 high school students from the Greater Boston-area at our event each year. As we continue to grow, we are looking towards becoming a Registered Nonprofit Organization in Massachusetts. We believe this title will bring us the opportunity and leverage to spread our group to other schools and communities.
Big impact requires resources, which is why we need your help.
For our event on February 16, 2019, we are asking for: $2161.90.
This amount will cover the costs for the event, which includes: storage, decorations, dress racks and hangers, motivational speakers and workshop leaders, refreshments, as well as transportation for attendees and pop-up dressing rooms.
In addition, there are other ways to get involved in our group, such as: prom dress and prom apparel donations, as well as catering donations from local businesses.
