Thank you to everyone who has taken their time to donate and share. The Dream Team appreciates the love and support we have recieved over the last few months of fundraising and many bakesales.
We have changed our trip date to May 24th to the 27th. This will give us more time to prepare our team to brainstorm, design, and scheme what event we hope to achieve to bring from New York to California!

We are the NYC Lab School’s Dream Team, a group of students working with The Future Project to change and enhance the conditions and culture of our school, as well as focusing on building projects and programs around our own passions, abilities, and issues we care about. Our theme for this year is "to feel connected through the things we love so that we can effect change in the people we care about.”
At the start of this year, we identified a (big) shared goal amongst the team: to visit California for the very first time. We are creating a cultural exchange program (“Future Pals!”) with another Future Project school in the Bay Area. Through messages, videos, photos, and other media, we hope to share the experience in our community - what it’s like to be a student at our high school in New York City - and learn more about theirs. Our dream is for the Future Pals program to culminate in a collaborative school event in San Francisco centered around culture and identity.
This is important to us because of a similar event (“World’s Majority Day ”) we produce each year at our school - by collaborating with the school in San Francisco, we can share our insights as well as gain inspiration for future programming at our school. There’s also the opportunity to visit other TFP schools in California... And visiting a completely new place for the very first time. It would be the experience of a lifetime!
Our GoFundMe goal would allow all 10 members of our Dream Team and our Dream Director to travel to California over our Spring Break. It would cover our lodging, transportation, and some daily costs for food.
