Dreams Do Come True-Lespwa Academy

The video above was made in 2015 while Michaela was in college, to show her post-graduation goals and ambitions. After 2 years Michaela is finally able to put her dreams into action and begin her own non-profit journey with the people of Haiti.

In November Michaela will travel back to Haiti, after a year long absence from friends and family there, and will be joined once again by Ryan Cotrupi. Ryan is an experienced and passionate cinematographer who is also eager to return to Haiti and continue helping Michaela grow her non-profit organization.

In order for them to begin this journey, they will need some financial assistance for production costs and fees. It is their intention to produce a film that will help in establishing Michaela's organization.

As you hear in the video above, it was always Michaela's dream to be a voice for the poor; to help those who need it most. Her profound passion has been, and remains, the welfare of the children of Haiti. Her organization's mission is to educate, feed, house, and care for any child in need. Her dream is Lespwa Academy. It is here that she intends to provide children with a free education; one that teaches daily life skills needed in Haiti through Sustainable Economic Development work in the surrounding communities. Michaela is committed to ensuring that Lespwa Academy will not just be a school, but, for those that need it, a home too.
