Dream Sculpture

Hello everyone!

I have started this Go Fund Me in hopes to raise funds to put toward material cost for my current work in progress. 

The sculpture will be made out of thousands of individually cast pieces of resin, attached to chainlink fences, with an approximate total of 240 square feet. Each piece just under 2 inches wide is cast with pigmented resin, a dash of glitter and swivel piece of hardware set inside. This allows them to move freely in the wind while catching the sunlight and creates sound as they clack against the fence and each other. 

The color will be undulating as it is installed across multiple segments of fence with the help of friends, volunteers, hired assistants and myself. The first location(s) of the work is to be determined but not limited to areas in the surrounding Buffalo region: the Olmsted Park systems, fences along Niagara Street, batting cages of LaSalle park and pedestrian walkways over I190 . Each installation will be temporarily installed then reinstalled at multiple sites across the city with heavy traffic for pedestrian enjoyment.

Having freshly moved to Buffalo over the summer and have the amazing opportunity to be working in sculpture studio with my best friend and fellow artist Lizzie Reid! The move has been invigorating and has jumpstarted my creative zest for wanting to make a beautiful piece for the public to enjoy while also enhancing this amazing Queen City. Everyone I've met from North to South Buffalo and my neighborhood of the upper West Side has truly shown me what it means to take pride in this city of good neighbors and I want to give back in my own way. Having been dreaming and working towards this particular sculpture I think Buffalo is the perfect place for the public to enjoy and I really need some help to finish it.

Below is the breakdown of the cost, I have searched across multiple sites and looked locally to find the most cost effective yet durable materials. Having the nature of the piece to be in the public domaine I am anticipating a small amount of theft because most of the pieces, but not all, will be installed ground level and at arms length of pedestrians. I do have faith in my newly found city and honestly believe in integrity of its inhabitants and I can't wait to contribute! Any surplus to the set fundraising amount will be used on materials to enlarge the piece for a wider range or people to enjoy. I would love to start installation in the spring of this year but even a early to mid summer installation would be lovely.
