What do you get when you put a surgeon, a fitness instructor, a sales manager and an freelance photographer in an ocean rowing boat???? A world record beating crew that rows unaided from California to Hawaii starting June 2020!!
We are a head strong all female crew rowing 2400 miles, 4000 kms, aiming to beat the world record which is currently set at 50 days, 19 hrs, 14 minutes!
We are raising money for Mates in Mind (www.matesinmind.org ) Harlequins Foundation ( www.harlequins.foundation/ ) and Inspiring Girls International (https://inspiring-girls.com )
Our aim is to prove to others that you really can 'dreamdaredo'! We are ordinary women with an extraordinary dream and we will make it happen! We want to empower others to have the self confidence and belief that they can dream big and smash through their comfort zone! We would love everyone to reap the lifelong benefits to body and mind that s[port can bring. The physical and mental challenge is one that we can only imagine! Living in 2 hour shifts, 2 hours on the oars, 2 hours eating/sleeping/maintenance etc for 50 days, hopefully less!
Imagine.....you're cold, wet, tired, searing pain from the sores on your hands and bottom, you've just been hit in the face by a flying fish and there is a 40ft wave coming towards you.............how would you handle it?! Just keep rowing!!
