Hey friends!
In short:
So this year I am planning on going on a medical mission trip to Cap Haitien, Haiti with my residency program (composed of Family Medicine and Pediatric doctors and nurses).
The trip is planned for February 12 -- 22, 2018.
We all know that residents are low on two things- time and money. I was able to get the time off but I do still need help in raising $3000 to be able to participate.
The $3000 will cover airfare, ground transportation and food (for me) but more importantly it will cover medication, procedures, food and other costs for the Cap Haitien community.
ANY amount helps (from $1 on up). But even if you're unable to give, just pray for a safe journey and a clear mind (lol; takes a lot of brain power to practice medicine without electronics or other modern amenities that I have become privy to).

The long story:
This February I will be traveling to northern Haiti on a global health trip with the non-profit medical humanitarian organization Hands Up for Haiti in partnership with Thomas Jefferson Sidney Kimmel Medical Center and A.I. Dupont Hospital for Children. Our team will be spending a week in Haiti delivering health care to many Haitian children and their families living without adequate health care services. Together with a team of Haitian doctors, nurses and health care workers, we will be holding pediatric outreach clinics in several remote villages and in the Shada clinic, located in one of the most impoverished areas of Cap Haitien. Our goal is to work together, and with limited resources, to improve the sustainability and quality of health care in Northern Haiti.
I would greatly appreciate your support in raising the necessary funding for this Global Health medical mission. Your donation will help this project and the people of Haiti immensely. In addition to providing direct care to the residents of northern Haiti, your donation will help us purchase medicines, medical equipment, and a peanut based nutritional treatment called Medika Mamba for the children that we treat. Your donations will also support our efforts to provide community education to teenagers and parents and to train traditional birth attendants learn life-saving skills with a Helping Babies Breathe and Helping Babies Survive workshop, and to support our Haitian medical staff as they run our programs all year.
