DRAW WRITE HERE! uses creative dialogue for its potential to push boundaries of aesthetic experience, dismantle barriers and create community. By sharing stories at a time when we, in order to stay alive, are living very isolated ones, DRAW WRITE HERE! helps bring people together. Although this project began prior to the pandemic, its importance is underscored by the intrinsic bridge-building which occurs not just at in-person events, but across the web during our Zoom events. The collaborative process inspires trust amongst strangers, penetrating walls of separation resulting in new and lasting friendships.
 
DRAW WRITE HERE! was created in 2014 by Helene Fischman, an arts educator located in the Milwaukee area, who funds and runs the project. DRAW WRITE HERE! has an evolving group of participants, open to the public, who span age range (widest range has been 15 – 74 y.o.), gender orientation, LGBTQ, race, ethnicity & religion.
** All events are free to the public, except for printed journals sold at cost. **
