Hope+Tay Show in Milan Design Week
As you may have heard, we (Hope and Taylor) have recently been selected to show our fashion/furniture collaboration during Milan Design Week in Milan, Italy at Ventura Lambrate, April 14-19. We are going to be shown in an exhbition focused on young and up-and-coming designers.
This is an opportunity of a lifetime and would provide amazing design visibility for the both of us. We will have a piece on the international stage for approximately 80+ thousand visitors and the world's best designers to see. It is a dream come true, to say the least.
The expenses are intense, however, and we need your support to make this happen. There is a $1700 fee that includes participation, passes, space rental, and other services. Additionally we have to buy plane tickets to Milan, cover other accomodations throughout the week, and ship the piece to Milan. We are aiming to raise at least $2500.
The $1700 fee is due March 1st!
The project:
"A furniture and fashion design collaboration, Drapar exists to explore the references between the chair and the human form. Throughout this process, Furniture Designer Taylor Scott Ross will work with Fashion Designer Hope Akin to design and create a piece of furniture and a garment that can be worn by both chair and human. Materials include poplar wood and plastic for the chair construction and for the garment, foam bonded with synthetic fabric."

Ventura Lambrate is one of three main districts in Fuorisalone! Their first year, Ventura Lambrate had 30,000 visitors and now they are getting over 80,000!
