DRAMA MAMA NEWS: A Unique New Web Series

Hi, I'm re-launching this fundraiser in February 2024...My name is Cathleen Campbell, and I’m the filmmaker who created the DRAMA MAMA NEWS web series to inform and entertain-- and maybe even make sense of this crazy world. I produced the first episode on my own. I need $50,000 to hire a crew to produce a full season of episodes, but I can get started with $2000 needed to produce the next mini-episode ASAP. Every dollar that you donate really makes a difference!

DRAMA MAMA NEWS combines serious journalism with humor. Don’t most of us have both a serious and fun side to our personalities? Having a sense of humor is one of the ways we cope with seriously hard times.

Other satirical news shows copy the same dull format that network TV news shows use: one or two reporters sitting at a desk. DRAMA MAMA NEWS is far more hip, much more visually rich.

While DRAMA MAMA NEWS welcomes all audiences—and we’ll do news stories about all sorts of people around the world—this show will have a special focus on Black women in America.

DRAMA MAMA NEWS is thought-provoking, funny, touching and inspiring.

Plans for future episodes include hiring a cast and crew, conducting live interviews, and working on other behind-the-scenes improvements (like upgrading the equipment we use) to make the show better.

After re-launching DRAMA MAMA NEWS with mini-episodes in February 2024, the goal is to eventually release one 20-30 minute episode per month (and more than one episode per month, if we raise enough money).
